In 1885, British businessman William Lever first introduced paper-packaged commodities into the market, opening up a new situation for the paper-packaged market. In 1909, Swiss chemist Brandon Berger discovered cellophane, and then cellophane technology was introduced to the United States, and was officially used in food packaging by the American DuPont Company in 1927.
Since then, because of the advantages of easy mass production, sufficient raw materials, relatively low cost, and recyclability, paper materials have been widely used in food packaging, disposable containers, beverage packaging, and transportation packaging.
